Your doctor will provide a prescription with enough medication to get to the next appointment. If you rescheduled an appointment or lost your original prescription and subsequently require a refill outside of an appointment, a fee will apply. Please be aware that we require a minimum of 72 hours notice for prescription renewals to be completed outside of an appointment.
All appointments are booked in advance (we regret, walk-ins cannot be seen). An automated courtesy reminder call is usually made in advance of the appointment; follow up appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice or consultation appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice are subject to a fee. As a courtesy to other patients waiting for appointments, please give us as much notice as possible should you need to reschedule an appointment. Children must attend all appointments.
Every effort will be made to return phone calls as quickly as possible. If for some reason you do not receive a call back we invite you to please call the office again. The doctors are not usually able to respond to calls personally, but messages will be relayed through the administrative assistant.
Payments & Uninsured services:
We ask each patient to present a valid and up to date Ontario health card at EVERY appointment. If no valid card is presented, or if the Ministry of Health refuses the OHIP claim, the patient’s family will be billed for the visit. Some services are not covered by OHIP; these may include, for example: email communication, prescription refills without an appointment, and letters to insurance, schools, lawyers. Payment for these services is due at the time they are provided. It is necessary (and legal) for our practice to charge for these services. Fees are based on Ontario Medical association recommendations.
We regret Quebec health cards will not be accepted. Quebec patients will have to pay OHIP rates at the time of the appointment. Payments can be made by Mastercard, Visa, Debit or cheque.
